About Wewlyn Garden City-Welwyn Garden City was founded by Sir Ebenezer Howard in the 1920s and designated a new town in 1948. It was aimed to combine the benefits of the city and countryside.
Welwyn Garden City was an escape from life in overcrowded cities to a place of sunshine, leafy lanes, countryside and cafes. Emphasis was placed on the Garden City's healthy environment.
Today it’s a busy and bustling town with a selection of shops, including John Lewis, Marks and Spencer, Waitrose, Sainsburys and also an array of coffee houses and eateries. The mainline station provides easy access to London’s Kings Cross within 30 minutes. There are many primary and secondary schools within walking distance of the residential areas. The highly regarded Oakland's College is in the town centre and has achieved an overall 'Good' in the Ofsted inspection.

What the owner says...-'When we first were looking into buying this apartment we were lucky to be the first in choosing among the 96 flats and at the time we were looking for a secure, conveniently located, sunny balcony, bright flat and with a nice community, and you know what that was exactly what we got!
We found the location ideal, for commuting, for amenities, big stores such as John Lewis etc. Just an 8 minute walk to the station.
Our lifestyle really improved by moving to this apartment which does not need too much maintenance. The community is ideal for our needs, many professionals with similar lifestyle makes you feel in the right environment.
We always have like the tranquillity of this apartment, but we most like the feeling of coming to a summery holiday apartment when we come back from work after a long day…even in the winter!
-
Continued...- Particularly, we love having breakfast and read the newspaper on the balcony when the spring /summer comes, or even at times sunbathing! We get the sun all afternoon.
And we also found the flat is naturally warm in the winter and find it a pleasure to come back to the warmth without having to put the heating on.
Among other things, we especially like the open plan kitchen and living area. Nice to have secure bike store in the basement and very handy to have a parking space just outside the main entrance. We love the en-suite shower bathroom. The flat also feels light and airy because of the long windows and the high ceilings.
It ticks all the boxes and we are going to miss it when we move out!'
